Lunopolis
Thanks to the all seeing eye of Netflix I was recommended a movie this week. Sitting there in my "Top 10 For You" list was a film from 2009 called Lunopolis. The summary of the film is what had me hooked: "In a classic sci-fi thriller setup, two independent filmmakers uncover a powerful secret organization controlled by aliens living on the moon. With Earth's future at stake, the pair gathers proof of government ties to the extraterrestrial conspiracy." Yes Please!

At it's core, this is a "Found Footage" style film. Don't let that fool you though. This movie walks the line between documentary, action movie and best of all it is either paying homage to or mocking shows like "Ancient Aliens". One flaw of most found footage style films is the whole gimmick gets old, usually early on. This film breaks up the found footage in a very creative way by interspersing interview, news clips and animated sequences throughout.

The story is the best part of this movie. I won't tell you any more than the short summary I was given on Netflix. Just trust me that it's a fun ride and well worth the hour and a half. It's streaming on Netflix right now, so go watch it! I'd love to know what you guys and gals think about it.

RE: Lunopolis
Just finished it. I found it pretty entertaining myself. Very Ancient Aliens like, but with a found footage style like you said. Yea most the acting it shit, but the concept itself is what kept me going. Good find Alex and maybe we'll do a movie night on it sometime.

RE: Lunopolis
Exactly.. I was more entertained by the story and the valiant attempt by the film makers to see their vision through on an obviously low budget.

I loved the end of the movie as well.. Very open to interpretation.. is that now our time line? Is it some alternate time line?

I think they did a decent job of not giving away the twist at the end either.

Thanks for giving it a watch.

RE: Lunopolis
stupid canadian version of netflix.....

This is blood for blood and by the gallon. These are the old days, the bad days, the all-or-nothing days. They're back! There's no choice left. And I'm ready for war.
