Yea that’s the Ninja Turtle Party Van that carries 23 DVD’s of the original show. If you’re not already drooling over this then you have too much pride in what your living room looks like. What guest of yours wouldn’t be impressed and then start a deep conversation about the possibility of April O’Neil shacking up with a Turtle? Okay maybe not that conversation, but something along those lines. This DVD awesome pack comes out in November for only $100. 23 DVD’s for $100? What’s the catch you might ask? Actually nothing, just ninja vanish after buying this and keep laughing to yourself knowing you’d probably pay $200 for it.
Fan made Captain Planet trailer? Sure I’ll bite. Hard to swallow without Don Cheadle as Captain Planet, but I guess we can accept this one. Gawd damn tree huggers. Julia Butterfly called, she wants to be relevant again too.
Yea so it’s pretty much a tamer Robot Chicken. Totally fine with that, not everything needs to be shock factor funny. Just feels like a feel good Star Wars parody and let’s hurry this up and air it. I literally know no details about this other than what you’re looking at because I had to post it as soon as friend of the show Marc passed it along. Enjoy.
Thanks to the GayFloridaNerd for this tip, this is what I came back to from a wedding I went to and I either found it funny cause it actually is or because I’m so delusional from the weekend still. Anyhoo it made me laugh out loud therefore it granted some web time.
The nerds are uniting again (not just the J Team this time) for Comic Con 2012. We will be in San Diego starting tomorrow through Sunday. Look to our Facebook and Twitter feeds for our all updates and pictures. Someone will be kicked out of something. James and Jon will be in a Q&A. Jeff will upset someone verbally so bad they cry. And I will try the worst pick-up lines ever on any Lara Croft or Poison (as long as she’s not actually a tranny) cosplayer. Make sure to stay in touch with us though and let us know what you want to see or hear first hand about! It’s about to get weird at the con.
I can’t tell a whole from this story other than Santa, Tooth Fairy, The Sandman, Easter Bunny, and Jack Frost are out to save the children of the world from a villain using fear as a weapon. Pretty stoked about this actually and really want the Australian voiced Easter Bunny (assuming that’s Hugh Jackman) to pull a knife on someone. Still confused as to what the Tooth Fairy or Easter Bunny have to offer to beat evil, they might as well invite Jubilee along too. Here’s the synopsis for the rest of your questions. Also any other children’s characters you would have liked to see?
RISE OF THE GUARDIANS is an epic and magical adventure that tells the story of Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, the Sandman, and Jack Frost – legendary characters with previously unknown extraordinary abilities. When an evil spirit known as Pitch lays down the gauntlet to take over the world, the immortal Guardians must join forces to protect the hopes, beliefs and imagination of children everywhere.
It is a well known fact that Disney has gone in the shitter since the 90’s for the most part. Now since they own both Star Wars and Marvel, they’re just pissing me off now. It’s not enough that they turn the Empire into a joke by having them dance around on stage at Disney World. Yes, it’s hilarious but I will never again be intimidated by Boba Fett. Now, they’re making an animated series about the Hulk and Iron Man. A quote by the President of Disney Channel, Gary Marsh:
“Two months ago, we launched Marvel Universe on Disney XD, which became the exclusive home for new Marvel television content. We’ve developed Ultimate Spider-Man. Subsequent to the success of the Avengers movie, we’ve been developing a new Avengers Assemble. We’re talking about a Hulk series and an Iron Man series, too. They’re going to spend $150 million to $200 million to make these [movie] properties and then half of that to market them; I’m sitting here thinking, ‘Thank you, Lord, you’ve made me look good.”
I am speculating that the reaction to Ruffalo and RDJ’s awesomeness together in the film sparked this idea. Yes, I “ship” them as the tumblr community would say. Anyway, I just can’t help but be THAT cynical asshole. They’re trying to ride on the success of the Avengers as long as they can. If it’s good, then fine, but I still think they’re trying too hard to ride on the Avengers coat tails. This smells very George Lucas-y. You will never be as good as the 90′s Disney! Just Stop.
So pretty much directly after I wrote the previous article for my Thursday schedule Comic Con released the Friday schedule and therefore the planning had to begin. For my final day at The Con (have to leave Friday night because of work on Saturday, so lame) there are some great panels that are going to appear, but if I do it right here’s what will be in store for me.
Let's face it because of these women I may not make it to any panel.
Community: School Is Back In Session – 10:00-11:00
With most of the actors there this panel is sure to at least be entertaining. The new writers are rumored to be there, but not confirmed so the Q&A about Community’s 4th season may be a little lackluster. There’s been a lot of changes to the making of this show and it’s going to be interesting to see if they even address it. I’m going to probably have to cut out a bit early of this one to catch…
Adult Swim: The Venture Bros – 11:00-12:00
I’m mostly hoping for some give outs here because I’ll take Venture merch anyday. Love the show and with the voice of Dr. Venture and the show’s two creators it could be worth it. If I have to bail on a panel today though it’ll probably be this one.
The schedule was released late afternoon yesterday for preview night on Wednesday and the first full day on Thursday. I can attend until late Friday night so these are definitely my main days to fully enjoy my first Comic Con experience. Luckily I have some veterans with my so I’m not too overwhelmed and just follow around hot cosplayers all day.
Apparently this is a good night to go to, but all I see is previews for five TV shows that are releasing soon, 2 of which I’m interested in. Arrow, a show about Green Arrow, is definitely the most interesting to me. The CW is attempting this hero series which I’m very on the fence about, so hopefully this preview helps push me one way or the next. Also being discussed is Revolution, a post apocalyptic series from Bad Robot Productions (JJ Abrams), Jon Favreau, and Supernatural’s Eric Kripke. I can only hope for a Fallout type production here, but maybe I should lower my expectations. Being aired on NBC this fall I will for sure be updating the nerdosphere on this possible gem.
So this will be my hopeful schedule for Thursday at The Con. If it’s anything like my experience at Wondercon though I’ll get distracted and at least miss one of these by the main floor and all it’s goodies.
Battlestar: So Say We All – 10:30-11:30
If Jon isn’t able to make this panel than it definitely won’t be as good because I think he’d give a shot at the Q&A and really provide some entertainment here. However with BSG being one of my favorite series of all time this reunion of actors and writers has me bleeding Toaster chrome.
In this different take on Sleeping Beauty, Jolie will be taking on the role of the ‘Mistress of all Evil’. Here’s some more information about this adaptation:
Burbank, CA (June 19, 2012) – The Walt Disney Studios announced today that production began Wednesday, June 13th, on “Maleficent,” starring Academy Award®–winning actress Angelina Jolie.
Directed by two-time Oscar®-winning production designer Robert Stromberg (“Avatar,” “Alice in Wonderland”), in his directorial debut, and produced by Joe Roth, “Maleficent” is written by Linda Woolverton (“The Lion King,” “Beauty and the Beast”) and executive produced by Angelina Jolie, Don Hahn, Matt Smith and Palak Patel.
