In Brightest Day, In Blackest Night, No Dudes Shall Escape My Sight

The Worst dressed GL is the gay one? Right...

In news that was already known and not announced yet, DC has released that their ‘iconic’ gay superhero in response to Marvel’s now gay Northstar (alright, alright he was always gay) is going to be Alan Scott. Think about it. Yep I still didn’t know who he was either. Apparently he was the first Green Lantern which really put me in my place in my knowledge of DC comic history. I really feel like I should have known that one, oh well. According to reports Alan Scott won’t even be in the main DC Universe. What the f!@# DC? Why even do this then? To say that you have one and then hide him away because deep down you’re ashamed like a homophobic father? Bad form DC, bad form. When this was announced that it was going to be an ‘iconic’ figure I think most people pointed to Aquaman or at least were hoping for such. I think our own Jeff Budd had the best option; Tim Drake as Robin. Since he’s still young they might of been able to do some decent story lines with it. The only way you can save this one for me DC is if you make his lover Robin Williams’ character from The Birdcage.
